Medio-lateral and lateral edge friction in indoor sports shoes

چکیده

It has previously been speculated that the occurrence and severity of lateral ankle sprain injuries is linked to excessive shoe–surface friction. Especially, parts shoe outsole are suggested play an important role in such scenarios but have never quantified a systematic manner. Therefore, purpose this study was investigate variation friction indoor sport shoes with foot orientation compare it traditional industry forefoot test standard. We modified ISO:13287:2019 for footwear slip resistance positioned on its edge while replicating medio-lateral movements similar reported incidents. All tests were conducted vinyl/sport surface. The results from setups compared those following anterior-posterior orientated ISO Medio-lateral average 17% lower 24% than (p < .001). However, linear regression showed could only explain 36% 35% This suggests motion-specific necessary determine properties meaningfully. These findings implications future research product testing field friction, safety injury prevention.

Immediate coronal plane kinetic effects of novel lateral-offset sole shoes and lateral-wedge insole shoes in healthy individuals.

To investigate kinetic differences in the coronal plane between healthy individuals wearing shoes with lateral-offset soles and shoes with lateral-wedge insoles while walking, hip abduction, knee adduction, and ankle abduction moments were estimated using a 3-dimensional motion analysis system under 3 different conditions: wearing conventional shoes (control), wearing lateral-offset sole shoes ...

Medio-Lateral Postural Instability in Subjects with Tinnitus

BACKGROUND Many patients show modulation of tinnitus by gaze, jaw or neck movements, reflecting abnormal sensorimotor integration, and interaction between various inputs. Postural control is based on multi-sensory integration (visual, vestibular, somatosensory, and oculomotor) and indeed there is now evidence that posture can also be influenced by sound. Perhaps tinnitus influences posture simi...

Implications of increased medio-lateral trunk sway for ambulatory mechanics.

The purposes of this study was to test a mechanism to reduce the knee adduction moment by testing the hypothesis that increased medio-lateral trunk sway can reduce the knee adduction moment during ambulation in healthy subjects, and to examine the possibility that increasing medio-lateral trunk sway can produce similar potentially adverse secondary gait changes previously associated with reduce...

The outcomes of midline versus medio-lateral episiotomy

BACKGROUND Episiotomy is the surgical enlargement of the vaginal orifice by an incision of the perineum during the second stage of labor or just before delivery of the baby. During the 1970s, it was common to perform an episiotomy for almost all women having their first delivery, ostensibly for prevention of severe perineum tears and easier subsequent repair. However, there are no data availabl...

Dynamic Stability of Walking during Anterior-posterior and Medio-lateral Support Surface and Visual Field Translations

Improving the ability to react to perturbations during daily activities like walking is a key to effective fall prevention training. Quantifying how walking stability changes in response to destabilizing events is critical for assessing how effective gait training interventions are. When small perturbations of increasing amplitude were applied to a dynamic model of walking, the model did not be...
